Spring Receptive Language Activities (Plus Giveaway!)

Spring has taken over my blog.... and I couldn't be happier! If you're following me on twitter (@speechissweet) then you know I sat on my stoop and cut out my expressive language packet last night. Now on to receptive language! It's printed, laminated, and ready to be cut. These two packets cover so many of my students' goals and it's good to know that most of my language therapy will be planned for at least two weeks! I'll begin these spring activities next week. This week my language students are working with There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick and all of my articulation students are working on the Jelly Bean Challenge by The Peachie Speechie.

Here's a peek into my Spring Receptive Language Packet:
This packet covers four different receptive language skills and can be found here. First up, good ol' WH questions! There are 36 question cards that address who, what, when, where, why, and how. These cards feature a variety of adorable birds and bugs!
Next up is a game called What's Under the Umbrella? Students read a description/riddle and must determine what is being described. If they are correct they get to keep their card. Student with the most cards wins... but watch out for the storm clouds!
Rainy Day Directions: don't we all have a billion kids who struggle with following multistep directions? This cute card game will definitely spruce up your receptive language therapy! Students draw a card and must follow the temporal direction. If they are correct they get to keep the card and if they draw a rainbow they get to take an extra turn! Student with the most cards wins!
Lastly, there is a garden of categories. There are two different tasks within this game to keep students on their toes! If they draw a spring tree they have to read the category name and provide members in that category. If they draw a butterfly or tulip they have to read the category members and determine which group the items belong to. If they draw an egg, they get to take an extra turn!
If this packet interests you leave a comment and I'll randomly select one person to receive a FREE copy! I'll notify the winner next Monday. Also, check out the post below to enter to win the expressive language packet! I'll be selecting the winner on Friday, so there's still time to enter.

In case you're wondering.. My articulation groups are already planned too! I will be using all the color, cut, and glue articulation packets I created for spring. Those can be found in my Teachers Pay Teachers store, here. Be sure to follow my store for updates and freebies!

Do you have any fun spring activities to share? I'd love to hear about them!
