Welcome cupid into your speech room with these fun books and activities!
First, you have to make your way to the Target dollar spot! They have tons of Valentine's Day goodies right now! For instance, they have this $3.00 tic-tac-toe game that can be used alongside any activity for extra reinforcement!
This game is paired with my Valentine's Day Apraxia Printables!
I also found this adorable pink pig popper in the seasonal aisle! I made a little companion for it too! You can find it in my free resource library that's available to my newsletter subscribers!
If you can't find this at Target, I found a similar one on Amazon. You can check it out HERE.
There are also so many fun books for February!
Love Monster by Rachel Bright is one of my all-time faves! It's about a little monster that searches for someone to love him. It's so endearing! I also found an adorable Love Monster book buddy on Amazon. It looks like it might be sold out, but here is the link in case they restock!
Love Monster and the Perfect Present is also an adorable story! He goes on a search for the perfect present for Present Day. He ends up making a homemade gift that is perfect! There are so many skills you can tackle with this story! For instance, you can compare Valentine's Day to Present Day (a holiday in Cutesville).
You can also read Love Monster and the Last Chocolate and bring in some little boxes of chocolate! Students can describe the chocolates and compare them!
I love using series in speech-language therapy! When students are already familiar with the characters and setting, it really helps to boost their comprehension.
I also blogged about a ton of other Valentine's Day books if you're interested. You can check that round-up out by clicking HERE.
No theme is complete without a few crafts! I found some conversation heart stickers in the dollar spot and I thought they would be perfect for making some pacing sticks!
For these pacing sticks I used these colorful foam popsicle sticks found on Amazon. I found some conversation heart stickers that look comparable too!
Also, you can turn any year round interactive notebook activity into a Valentine's Day craft with some pink construction paper and washi tape! Here's a link to my Super Mega Bundle if you want to check out all 24 packets!
I also made some NO PREP Valentine's Day crafts found in the February Speech Therapy Crafts packet or check out the growing bundle!
These mailboxes are great reinforcers! After a student answers the question on a flash card or practices an articulation target, they can "feed" the mailbox! My The Day it Rained Hearts book companion is pictured here!
You can also turn any of my Valentine's Day packets into play dough smash mats! Simply put them in a dry erase sleeve! Valentine's Day Articulation is pictured here. The dry erase sleeves I'm using can be found HERE.
If you're looking for more resources, check out my Valentine's Day Language Bundle and Valentine's Articulation Bundle (it features 500+ color, cut, and glue artic activities!).
