Spring Expressive Language Activities (Plus Giveaway!)

Spring is my favorite time of year! I love the gardening, the occasional rain shower, and all the bright colors. I just had to make an activity packet that would brighten up my therapy. This colorful packet makes me feel happy!
This packet can be found in my TPT store, here. It contains four different card games that target expressive language skills. Oh.. and each card set is colored coded with bright bunting so you won't get your cards mixed up! I love bunting, can't you tell? haha

I have many students who have difficulty with comparing and contrasting. Analyzing is a higher level thinking skill that is not easily tackled. This card game will definitely put our students' little brains to work. It includes 18 cards plus two large cue cards (which can also be displayed as mini posters!) to boost student performance. Students draw a card then explain how the two items are alike and how they are different.

The next set of cards target describing. The student draws a card and then describes the given object. If they describe the item thoroughly they get to keep the card. If they draw a bunny "rollie" they lose all their cards! Student with the most cards wins. 24 cards are included, plus clue cards! Provide each student with a clue card to support their describing. Here's a peek!

Functions! This next card game focuses on a tiny aspect of describing and it is perfect for building a student's foundation for describing. Student draws a card and must explain the item's use/function. If they are correct they get to keep the card. Student with the most cards wins.... but watch out for the sneaky gnomes!
Lastly, what's an expressive language packet without a little grammar? This game focuses on those pesky irregular plurals. Students draw a card and the SLP reads the sentence that is singular and then the student must make the same sentence become plural! If they are correct they get to keep the card. If they draw a monster they lose all their cards! Student with the most cards wins. This set contains 24 cards plus two visual cue cards!
Before I left school today I printed and laminated this packet! Things are gonna get really real when I start cutting them out this weekend. haha.. But this cute packet is worth every minute of snipping, because I know my students will love it!

Would you like to brighten up your therapy too?! Does this packet look useful? I'm so excited about these activities that I want to give one away! Just leave a comment and I will randomly select one person to receive a free copy!

Have a great weekend! I plan on hitting up the greenhouse, gardening, relaxing, and... of course, cutting! haha
