Let's go to Speech Camp!

The school year is slowly coming to an end and I can almost taste summer break! I think there's no better way to end the school year than with a camping theme. I've designed an entire series of Speech Camp activities to get myself through the month of May!

Here's a closer look at Speech Camp: Expressive Language!
You can find this packet in my Teachers Pay Teachers store here.

This packet contains four different expressive language card games and a variety of NO PREP activities. Each game also includes two cue cards or they can be used as mini posters. I plan on displaying these cue cards on the blackboard behind my therapy table when they're not in use, hence why I'm calling them mini posters!

Comparing/Contrasting: This card game features camping themed items and woodland animals. Students draw a card and discuss how the two items are alike and how they are different. If the student compares/contrasts correctly they get to keep the card. If they find a stinky skunk, they lose all their cards! Student with the most cards wins. 24 cards included, plus two cue cards!
Describing: Students draw a card and describe the given item. If they describe the item thoroughly they get to keep the card. If they find fire wood, they get to take an extra turn! Student with the most cards wins. I also recommend printing a cue card for each student to aid them in their description. 24 cards included, plus cue cards!

Pronouns: I work with primary aged students (K-2) so I always have students who are working on pronouns. I had to include this skill in my expressive language packet! This card game addresses:  he, she, they, and it. The student simply draws a card and fills in the blank with the correct pronoun. If they are correct they get to keep their card. If they find a sneaky fox then they lose their cards! Student with the most cards left at the end wins! This game includes 30 cards and 2 cue cards.

The last card game addresses irregular plurals! The SLP reads the plural sentence and the student must formulate the same sentence, but make it plural! If student is correct they get to keep the card. Student with the most cards wins! But watch out for band-aids! 24 cards included, plus cue cards!
Here's a peek at the NO PREP Activities! They cover everything from multiple meaning words to analogies!

  1. I found your blog through the What's in Your Cart? Linky Party and I'm glad I did! It looks good and so do your Speech Camp packets! The graphics are cute and very appealing. I do a summer therapy clinic and like to use different materials and games than I use during the school year and these look like they would fill the bill!
